I am very excited to announce today the release of Limina Studio, a free desktop application designed specifically for Holotropic Breathwork facilitators - Well anyone can use it but I built it to suit my own personal workflow while creating music for Holotropic Breathwork sessions.
Limina Studio is a purpose-built environment for arranging, crossfading, and exporting the extended music sets that breathwork sessions require, with output optimisation baked in so that the technicalities of preparing music for loud playback is already done.
A Tool Built Around the Practice
Most audio software is designed for recording engineers or music producers. Limina Studio takes a different approach - every decision in the application reflects the realities of breathwork facilitation. Sessions run for three hours or more, music selections need to flow seamlessly from one piece to the next. I have been using Adobe Audition for many years but it has become increasingly expensive and while I investigated using other tools like Audacity and Ableton Live none of them really covered what I needed when preparing sets.
Limina Studio's timeline is built for long-form sets. Tracks can be arranged, trimmed, and crossfaded across a scrollable canvas. Clips overlap to create automatic equal-power crossfades, volume automation nodes shape the energy arc of a session, and the finished mix exports to a single WAV or MP3 file - ready to play the moment a session begins.
Designed as a Teaching Tool
Limina Studio was created in direct support of an upcoming Music for Breathwork course. Students and practitioners will use the application to learn how to build and sequence music sets from the ground up, developing the skills to craft intentional, flowing journeys for the people they guide.
